Nice People Dancing to Good Country Music
Sunday in the Park with George
This production made use of projected scenery from the studies that Seurat created for La Grande Jatte, combined with animated leaves, boats and figures.

The Trojan Women - C nova, Studio O, Edinburgh, Scotland

The Gondoliers (Gilbert and Sullivan)

Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol

This script features several supernatural effects that we couldn't have afforded had we used live actors, so I built 1/3 scale puppets. The show was also done in black light, with  the puppeteers were dressed in black zentai suits. Learning to mix the Wildfire paint in order to create a range of colors was a wonderful challenge.

Fiddler on the Roof

My objective with this production was to try and revisit the show with fresh eyes, honoring the rich production history it has, while at the same time trying to bring my own vision and experience to the process. I found  the most fertile ideas while exploring Tevya's relationships with his daughters. I worked to reinforce distinct relationships between he and all five of the daughters in the show. I believe this added a layer of richness and humanity to the overall experience.

While at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival I had the opportunity to see a couple of shows produced by Belt Up, a company out of York, England. Their work was very immersive, eliminating the boundary between the actor and the audience. I was inspired by this and attempted to incorporate what I had seen in their work with my production of The Trojan Women. There was a pathway the audience had to traverse in order to enter the theater space, marking the transition from the outside world to that of the play. Once inside, the audience sat mixed in with the women of Troy who were captives of the Greeks. The production also incorporated a olfactory component to the design and featured original live music.

Blithe Spirit

Almost, Maine

This production was invited to the KCACTF Region 8 conference.

110 in the Shade

Dancing at Lughnasa

Sleuth

Sweeney Todd

Conceptually my objective with this production was to try and recreate the look and feel of a silent era horror film. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari was a particular inspiration. The makeup designer, Guy Smith, would go on to win the national KCACTF makeup design competition for his work on this show.

Jekyll and Hyde

This production was invited to the region 8, KCACTF conference.
